Court recognizes rights of perceived whistleblowers

The Fourth District Court of Appeal's decision in Diego v. Pilgrim United Church of Christ provides protections to individuals who are perceived by their employer to be whistleblowers.  In 2014, amendments to California labor code providing statutory safeguards for employees who an employer believes may a whistleblower.  The protections from retaliation are the same protections afforded employees who actually make complaints about illegal conduct.
