Last week, a federal judge held the Kansas U.S. Attorney’s Office in contempt of court for failing to cooperate with a special master’s investigation at Leavenworth Detention Center. The investigation relates to recordings of attorney-client phone calls and teh U.S. Attorney's Office's failure to preserve evidence in the special master’s investigation.
U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson of Kansas City, Kansas, found the government in civil contempt. The Judge found that two prosecutors had “knowingly and intentionally” listened to recording between attorney and client.
