Neutral Financial Specialist

The financial specialist is a neutral professional who focuses on the financial interest of both spouses but advocates for neither.  The financial specialist is the only true “neutral” in the collaborative process.

The financial specialist is a licensed financial planner, public accountant, or divorce financial analyst who will develop a statement of assets and liabilities for the team.  She or he will analyze income and living expense for each spouse and expenses relating to children and long-term outcomes of proposed financial agreements.

The financial expert will also analyze the ability of one spouse to stay in the family residence, the sale of the family residence, or purchase a new home by either spouse.
